India Gives Foundation scheme-Educational assistance to children of disabled parents
The Social Justice Department has initiated a new comprehensive scheme called ‘IGF SCHOLARSHIP’ that provides educational assistance to children of differently abled parents (disability for both parents/ disability for any parent) who are economically deprived. From each category educational assistance will be provided to 25 children from each district for a duration of 10 months. The children have been categorized as follows:-

Eligibility
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Karnataka.
- At least one parent must have a disability of 40% or more.
- The applicant’s family must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
- Applicants should be enrolled in government-approved institutions in Karnataka.
- All applicants must have a bank account for receiving the scholarship amount.

Benefits Applied
- For Classes 1 to 5, the scholarship provides Rs. 300 per month for 10 months.
- For Classes 6 to 10, the scholarship provides Rs. 500 per month for 10 months.
- For 10+1, 10+2, ITI, and other equivalent courses, the scholarship provides Rs. 750 per month for 10 months.
- For Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree, Polytechnic, and other professional courses, the scholarship provides Rs. 1000 per month for 10 months.

Other Details
- The scholarship duration is 10 months per class.
- Financial assistance is disbursed punctually for each class.
- Students receiving other educational financial aid are ineligible for this scheme.
- Eligibility is limited to students from government-approved institutions.
- Part-time and parallel college courses do not qualify for the scholarship.
