2. Introduction
Millions of women in remote villages and migrant worker communities have the talent but lack the opportunity to earn a livelihood.
India Gives Foundation launched the DHAGA SUI Initiative to empower women through sewing and tailoring training, enabling them to achieve:
- Financial independence
- Home-based income
- Dignity & confidence
- Support for their families
- Freedom from economic vulnerability
This program provides hands-on training, tools, and market-linked skill development, helping women start home-based micro-enterprises or join tailoring units for regular income.
3. Beneficiaries (Who We Support)
The DHAGA SUI program is designed for:
- Women from remote rural villages
- Women from migrant labor communities
- Widows / single mothers
- Women facing economic hardship
- Uneducated or school dropout women
- Domestic workers looking for skill up gradation
- Young women seeking self-employment
Age Group: 15 to 45 years

₹600 – Sewing toolkit (needles, threads, scissors, tape)
₹1,500 – Cloth and practice materials
₹2,500 – Trainer fees for one session
₹5,000 – Starter kit for one beneficiary
₹9,000 – Support one woman’s full training
₹12,000 – Sponsor half sewing machine
₹24,000 – Sponsor one full sewing machine
