Hunger Has No Species; Every Living Being In The Universe Needs Food To Stay Alive.
The problem of hunger is majorly faced by the underprivileged ones leaving every third child stunted, with under developed minds and bodies in comparison to their age.
Hunger and malnutrition are two of the greatest challenges of our time. We at IGF are dedicated to help break the cycle of poverty and alleviate malnutrition through various initiatives across the country.
In a world where your compassion can make a huge difference in somebody’s life – food drives are a great way to provide immediate relief to hungry stomachs and raise awareness on a critical issue, like ‘hunger.’ Ideally, donating in cash can aid the process and the organization can buy the food stock accordingly, but different types of food donation can go a long way in bringing smiles to many underprivileged people
The residents here are facing a problem with their home roofs during the rainy season as the rainwater flows directly into their homes. We found a solution by providing them with Tarpaulin, which can easily stop the roof leakage.
The majority of the people residing here are street beggar, unemployed, and those who are working work on a daily wage basis. Currently, there are approx. 100 homes across the two identified areas, which need these Shelters to save them from rains. Any kind of help is appreciated.
We have adopted 85 families to whom we supply ration every month along with 120 families also need support, these underprivileged families our all hand to mouth. They are daily wage earners. They have a lot of problem sustaining their livelihood. Providing them with these food grains helps ease their problem of spending on basic ration every month. The food bank item list consists of entries that aren’t high in sugar or salt, but instead healthy and rich in protein. Here are the 5 types of Food donations you can make to create a significant impact:
⦁ Rice and Pulses: Rice is a staple in many Indian households and aligns well with the culinary preferences of many, and pulses like beans and chickpeas are excellent sources of protein. The non-perishability of these items also makes them viable options when you are looking for different food items that can be donated to charity.
⦁ Flour and Grains: wheat flour and other grains are vital for making traditional Indian breads, which are staple in many cultures. Donating these food items ensures a consistent source of nutrition.
⦁ Cooking oil: Donating cooking oils like mustard and sunflower for all types of food donations, helps families make well-cooked wholesome dishes.
⦁ Spices and Condiments: Indian cuisine is well-known for its rich flavours and fragrances that come from adding spices like cumin and turmeric. Making these non-perishable food donations to your nearest food drive can help add flavour to somebody’s life.
⦁ Tea and Coffee: A warm cup of tea and coffee can be a great energizer, making it a thoughtful addition to your food donation. Through the above list, we’ve tried to mention the best food items to donate to homeless people, who are unable to gather enough resources for even their next meal.
The various types of food donations and charitable contributions allow you to make a meaningful impact. Whether you choose to donate food, goods, or support through any other means, your contribution can create lasting positive change in the lives of those who are less fortunate. Together with trusted NGO‘s, we can be a force for positive change in the lives of the underprivileged in India, breaking barriers and building a brighter future for all.
We also extend healthcare support to hospitals and underprivileged individuals, and education fees and scholarships to deserving students. We aim to overcome the twin hurdles of poverty and malnutrition amongst the communities we engage with.
