About The Work from Home Volunteer internship
The purpose of this internship program is to provide you with relevant guidance and to equip you with experience that will be helpful in your future career. During your internship with India Gives Foundation you will be working from home but interacting with India Gives Foundation employees on a regular basis and hence you are expected to comply with all applicable rules and regulations of India Gives Foundation as enforced from time to time in respect of the matters not covered by this Agreement. India Gives Foundation decision on all such matters will be final and binding on you. This is an unpaid internship opportunity, but the intern will gain valuable experience and knowledge in the field of non-profit, community development, and events management. Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include
- Promoting the NGO’s initiatives on various social media platforms
- Working on raising funds through online campaigns
- Formulating strategies to raise funds
- Working on brainstorming new ideas for our NGO
- Working on the promotion of our online fundraising campaigns
- Performing crowd funding for the foundation
- Spreading awareness about the NGO and its campaigns Earn certifications in these skills Learn Business Communication
- Collecting donations via website
- Performing crowd funding for the foundation
- Assist the sponsorship team in fundraising through personal and professional network
- Work and implement on strategies to increase the recurring monthly donation for the NGO
- Conduct awareness sessions in schools
- Work on giving presentations to girls in schools and colleges
- Manage projects
- Coordinate with the team
- Attending orientation sessions to learn about our organization and mission
- Hosting events and playing the role of the host to engage with our supporters and community members
- Supporting the on-field functioning of our programs and events
- Work on conducting workshops with kids and adolescents
- Work on participation in campaigns organized by our foundation
- Work on meetings with donors
- Work on charity event organization and coordination
- Doing some social work activities(Hindi Proficiency (Spoken)
- Should be comfortable in speaking to people
- Helping onboard new volunteers, including conducting orientation sessions and preparing and distributing employee handbooks and other materials.
- Assisting with volunteer relations issues, such as conducting exit interviews and preparing documentation for terminations and layoffs.
- Supporting HR team members with special projects and other tasks as needed
- Spreading awareness about the NGO and its campaigns

- Term of the Internship: For the internship to be worthwhile and effective, interns will be accepted for a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 3 months. (Online classes weekly twice only) On your successful completion of the internship program, you will be provided an internship certificate by INDIA GIVES FOUNDATION.
- Security clearance The technical unit is requested to issue security clearance for all interns, whether national or international. When accepting an internship, interns agree to provide the following Documents: *Most recent detailed CV (including contact number, valid e-mail education and experience) *Copy of ID and valid passport *Copy of university/institute credentials *Proof of health care coverage (Not mandatory).
- Location: You will be based at your home office. However, if required and at India gives request, you may have to work from INDIA GIVES FOUNDATION offices in (Bangalore Not mandatory).
- Limited Authority: You will not enter into any commitments or dealings on behalf of India Gives Foundation or be a party to any alteration of any principle or policy of India Gives Foundation or exceed the authority or direction vested in you without the previous sanction of India Gives Foundation or those in authority over you. Any violation of this may lead to termination of your internship program with immediate effect.
- Confidentiality/Intellectual Property: You shall keep confidential all the information and material, including information in relation to India Gives Foundation services, dealings, transactions and affairs, provided to you by India Gives Foundation( until permission by India Gives Foundation)
- Three weeks test period: Once a new INDIA GIVES intern has been on boarded, experience taught us it is helpful to provide a three-week test period after which the intern’s successful integration to the team will be assessed. The assessment helps us identify possible communications gaps, address and manage expectations and work routines, and give support in the participation in projects.
- Talk to your Mentor & Director: In case of any difficulties or unclarities please talk to your mentor or department director; they are your main contact persons. If anything needs to be addressed in the larger group, feel free to get in touch with the INDIA GIVES Board.
- Don’t postpone or drop relevant life decisions: Internship at INDIA GIVES FOUNDATION should not interfere with your personal or professional development. It would be unwise to postpone or drop relevant life decisions like job applications, examinations, postgraduate training or writing doctoral theses to support INDIA GIVES FOUNDATON,
- Take care of your own needs Interns self-care: Please be aware of your own needs and resources and make sure to make them known to the people you are working with in order to avoid dissatisfaction and possible burnout. If you realize you are over your capacity, let us know! Maintaining a healthy work culture is just as important as the work itself.
- Internships are not paid: INDIA GIVES FOUNDATION cannot offer money in compensation for your time and efforts. Internships are unpaid work provided by people who believe in a cause (vocation) or feel the urge to share their competences (even mere, unspecialized labor) for personal development and career advancement.
- Tasks need to be done: Being given responsibility for a project or other assignment comes with the expectation to contribute substantially to the assigned tasks. Please be aware that if you accept a task, the team expects you to meet the agreed work targets and timelines.
