WATER AND SLUMS

Every day, over 800 children die due to water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, jaundice and typhoid combined with poor sanitation and hygiene and scarce or unreliable drinking water and sanitation facilities in many communities around the world, because Lack of
proper knowledge about hygiene, unhygienic sanitation, polluted water supply, extreme level of poverty, dispensing medicine without doctor’s prescription are the main causes for waterborne diseases in this slum.

OUR FOCUS AREAS

  1. We serve to promote good hygiene habits through education
  2. Improve sanitation facilities by providing toilets and latrines that flush into a sewer
  3. Also rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store rainwater for drinking 
  4. Slum upgrading community programme
  5. Hand washing with soap at critical times (e.g. after toilet use and before the preparation
    of food) for school children
  6. Campaign for “WATER”.
