WORLD DAY FOR INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE “Bridging Gaps, Building Alliances”

International Justice Day commemorates the historic adoption of the Rome Statute on 17 July 1998, and marks the importance of continuing the fight against impunity and bringing justice for the victims of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
International Justice Mission India collaborates with local governments, corporations, multilateral institutions, and other organizations to provide solutions towards addressing human trafficking in the country. “I commend IJM’s affiliation with the government, not only on this project but on many others as well.
The Aim of International Justice Day
The aim of this day is to unite everyone who wants to support justice as well as promote victims rights. It is to help prevent serious crimes and those that put the peace, security and well-being of the world at risk.
How You Can Mark the Day
There are a number of different ways you can play a part. Why not write an article or a blog to highlight the need for justice where you live? You could send a communication to your local elected representative and voice your opinion. Speak to members of your government. Or take part in one of the many events that will be held in cities around the world.

What is the purpose of international justice?
International justice means ensuring accountability for some of the most serious crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, torture and enforced disappearances. There are many reasons why victims of these crimes are denied justice. Today, let us stand united, recognizing our shared aspiration for justice. Let’s uphold the dignity of victims, champion human rights, and lend our voices to the call against impunity.
